International shipping requirements, return transport costs for dunnage, sustainability and consumption of raw materials have motivated our customers to do some rethinking.
Anthon strives to achieve resource-saving by developing solutions for shrink-film-wrapping, corner protection applications and various palletizing solutions.
An additional aid toward this goal are loading ledges, also referred to as OptiLedge load carriers (www.optiledge.com). IKEA invented this system to reduce handling and transport costs and make international shipping easier by utilizing inorganic materials (plastic instead of wood) in palletizing tasks.
The OptiLedge load carrier (ledges) is a plastic strip that can be employed as a sub-platform for stacks of various widths and lengths. Depending on the size of the package, a varying number of ledges are used. Robots provide the most flexible method of insertion.
Anthon has already shown itself to be a premier provider of the most diverse solutions incorporating our tried-and-proven loading ledge system at many companies.
These solutions are characterized by the following:
- automated loading ledge storage, feeding and handling
- highest flexibility in regards to stack dimensions
- very minimal maintenance expenditure
- building block integration into existing production lines
- turnkey solutions with feeding and unloading system for the plant
